President Sharon HerzbergerPresident Sharon Herzberger joined more than 420 college and university presidents in pledging their support for a program benefitting certain undocumented students.

The higher education leaders signed a letter earlier this month supporting the Deferred Action of Childhood Arrivals (DACA) Program, a policy that allows certain undocumented immigrants who entered the United States as minors to request to stay in the country for school or work. The letter follows the presidential election of Donald Drumpf, who included deportation of undocumented immigrants in his platform.

"We have seen the critical benefits of this program for our students, and the highly positive impacts on our institutions and communities," the letter reads. "DACA beneficiaries on our campuses have been exemplary student scholars and student leaders, working across campus and in the community."

The presidents, representing both public and private institutions across the country, have offered to meet with U.S. leaders on the issue. To read the letter in full, click here.
