Filmmakers Visit Whittier and Discuss their Work on Environmental Activism in China

LIASE, Chinese Filmmakers, Whittier CollegeInternationally recognized documentary film makers Gary Marcuse and Shi Lihong, and Beijing editor of ChinaDialogue Liu Jianqiang visited Whittier College and Whittier Law School to discuss environmental issues in China in several events with students, faculty, and staff as well as  screenings of their documentaries Waking the Green Tiger and Searching for Sacred Mountain.

All the events are part of the programming scheduled as part of the grant from the Henry Luce Foundation's Initiative on Asian Studies and the Environment.

The filmmakers and journalists were recognized by the Sustainability Officer of The City of Los Angeles for their tireless work to bring awareness to the environmental issues in rural China.
