Whittier College is unveiling a new institutional brand that positions the College for continued success in enrollment, engagement, and advancement.
Developed over the past 18 months in partnership with higher education branding firm EducationDynamics, the new brand is the result of extensive market research and input from across the Poet community, including students, faculty, staff, alumni, trustees, and campus leadership.
The process helped define Whittier's unique strengths and articulate a clear, compelling story about the value of a Whittier education.
The centerpiece of the new brand is "Illuminating Potential," a commitment that reflects Whittier's purpose-driven, future-ready approach to education. Grounded in mentorship, collaboration, and real-world learning, the brand celebrates the College's ability to empower students to transform aspiration into action and create meaningful impact in their careers, communities, and lives.
"This brand reflects what we've long known to be true about Whittier College," said Myla Edmond, Interim Vice President for Communications. "It tells our story in a way that is authentic to who we are today while positioning the College for the future. Most importantly, it celebrates the remarkable potential we see in every Poet."
Members of the campus community may have already noticed elements of the new brand coming to life through updated messaging, redesigned publications, refreshed digital experiences, and new visual elements across campus.
The rollout will continue over the coming months as communications, marketing materials, and campus touchpoints are aligned with the new identity. Every interaction, story, and achievement helps bring the brand to life, and we look forward to seeing the many ways our community will continue to embody what it means to Illuminate Potential.
