Noor Deen uniquely fuses Arabic and Chinese into the Sini style of Islamic Calligraphy to create graceful works of art and is the first Chinese Muslim to be awarded the Certificate of Arabic Calligrapher in Egypt, as well as to receive ijaza from master calligrapher Hasan Celebi Hoca. His work has been displayed in galleries and museums worldwide including the British Museum and Harvard University.

During his presentation, he illustrated various calligraphy symbols and explained their meaning. With Noor Deen’s guidance, the students were able to get a hands-on lesson on calligraphy and gave their skills a try drawing symbols using some of his specially designed paint brushes.
