Red Canary Magazine Welcomes Poets

Two recent Whittier College graduates are honing their professional journalistic skills at Red Canary Magazine

Tori O'CampoFormer Quaker Campus (QC) editor-in-chief Tori O’Campo ’21 is now serving as an associate editor at the independent publication that focuses on such themes as social justice, equity, and the environment. An English major, O’Campo was also the creative director for the College’s literary magazine, the Greenleaf Review

Media and Communications major Sarah Brown ’20 is the social media manager for the magazine. Brown currently resides in Boston and is pursuing a master’s degree in social media management and communications at Northeastern University. 

Red Canary has also featured work of current Whittier students and another recent graduate. Environmental activist Ivan Serna’s ’23 article, The Ills of Urban Oil Drilling, was published in March. QC opinion editor Angelica Escobar ’23 and Shannon Aguiar ’20 recently collaborated on an article for the magazine, Rising Seas, Increasing Unease & Coastal Erosion.
