81st Annual Bach Festival

orchestra The Department of Music at Whittier College presents the 81st annual Bach Festival—the oldest collegiate Bach festival west of the Mississippi—taking place this year on April 6 and 8.  

This annual festival aims to support the Music Department’s educational mission to enhance the musical experiences of Whittier College students and the Southern California community.

The Music Department invites all audiences to join them for two major events: 

The Bach Poet Musicale
Friday, April 6, 2017 at 12:00 p.m.
Featuring student and faculty performances of music by Bach and his contemporaries.

Bach’s Cantatas 182 and 61 with Baroque Masters
Sunday, April 8, 2017 at 4:00 p.m.
Showcasing faculty chamber performances with bassoon, oboe, flute, and harpsichord, the Whittier College Chamber Choir, and “The Whittier Festival Singers.

Both concerts are free and open to the public, and will be presented in the Whittier College Memorial Chapel, 13406 Philadelphia Street, Whittier, CA.
