Major League Baseball Chats with Professor of Religion Joe Price

Joe Price, Whittier College, Institute for Baseball StudiesMichael Clair from Major League Baseball's Cut4 blog recently visited the Institute for Baseball Studies and sat down with Professor of Religious Studies Joe Price to talk about the history and mission of the Institute, past Institute events, and Price's research interest in religion and baseball.

Price also commented on the upcoming courses he will teach related to baseball.

"I'm teaching a course called El Beisbol: A Caribbean Religion," said Price to the MLB. "We will take students for two weeks to San Juan, Puerto Rico, where they will be able to be housed at the Universidad del Sagrado Corazón. There they will receive instruction in Puerto Rican history as well as have a number of meetings that the faculty are trying to set up with retired Major Leaguers who are living in the San Juan area and -- if it works, if she's able, Mrs. Roberto Clemente."
