Whittier Ranked for Social Mobility of Graduates

Deihl buildingU.S. News & World Report ranked Whittier College 15th among national liberal arts colleges, noting the College’s success in supporting students from low-income families to the point of achieving equity with students from families with a stronger financial background. 

For this ranking, the publication compared the graduation rates of students who receive federal Pell Grants—given to students whose household income is less than $50,000 annually—with those who did not receive these grants. They also looked at graduation rates for those students who received the grants. Click here to read the full article and methodology.

Whittier was also acknowledged by U.S. News & World Report for its campus diversity, ranking as one of five California schools included in the top 12 list of ethnically diverse institutions.
