In 2008, Whittier College established the College's first successful recycling program. Since then there have been significant improvements in turning Whittier College into a "greener" campus, but there is still work to be done.
Making recycling convenient for students and staff is our top priority. We are working to make sure that recycling bins can be found in all major areas and rooms on campus. Students will no longer have to throw away recyclable items due to a lack of recycling bins. We are also aiming to reduce the amount of waste produced here at Whittier, along with educating others about current environmental issues. All of these elements make up of our goals for this school year.
Here on the Green Pages, you can learn about different items that are recyclable and the locations of each recycling bin around campus. We have also provided online resources that will help you become more involved in the Green Movement and lead you to a more eco-friendly lifestyle.
