Professor Huemer’s Research Noted

Sabine HuemerVisiting Assistant Professor of Psychological Sciences Sabine Huemer was featured in a recent podcast of the Academic Minute, a weekly podcast produced by WAMC Northeast Public Radio in collaboration with the Association of American Colleges and Universities (AACU). 

In this broadcast, Huemer examines autism from an inclusive viewpoint to recognize the strengths as well as the deficits.

“Our research uses the neurodiversity model as a framework, which states that our neurological differences enrich the human gene pool,” says Huemer in the podcast. “In our work, we highlight abilities individuals with autism spectrum disorder and other conditions have as we explore their neurological differences.”
