Luce Initiative on Asian Studies and the Environment

Breadcrumb

During this four-year project, we seek to strengthen awareness and understanding of Asia and its environment through curricular and other pathways for student, faculty, and community learning. Specifically, the project encompasses interdisciplinary perspectives on the environment and sustainable development in various places in China, Hong Kong, and Myanmar.  Key programmatic offerings include courses in history, religious studies, environmental sciences and studies, business, law, social sciences, literature and the arts. To further raise awareness on such topics beyond the college community, we will also collaborate with regional and overseas institutions to increase networking opportunities. Through this project, students and faculty will be able to work together to deepen understanding of Asia and the environment. This program is generously funded by the Henry Luce Foundation’s Initiative on Asian Studies and the Environment (LIASE).
