He spearheaded a concert on February 12 featuring Narada Production’s Cuba L.A., which showcased some of the city’s finest musicians and included Cuban classics and contemporary songs.

On Friday, April 28, Lozano will perform at Soka University with Mongorama, whose music is inspired by the legacy of the legendary jazz conguero Mongo Santamaria. The group’s music explores his jazz records from the late 1950s and early 1960s. Mongorama recently performed at the Curtis Theatre in Brea on February 12.

The Inside Latin Jazz series moderated by Lozano continues at The Ruth B. Shannon Center for the Performing Arts. The next session will be Tuesday, April 18. Get tickets here.
