Psychology professor Chuck Hill is the author of Intimate Relationships Across Cultures: A Comparative Study, in collaboration with 40 colleagues around the world. It is based on an intimate relationships questionnaire that is available online in 20 languages with almost 9000 participants from 72 countries. He is also the author of Prejudice, Identity and Well-Being: Voices of Diversity Among College Students, based on more than 3300 responses to his multiple identities questionnaire that can be found online. The book has data analyses of questionnaire responses interspersed with quotes from self-identity papers in his Diverse Identities classes. Hill has also participated in study abroad programs, study tours, professional conferences, and personal travel in 51 countries. His travel journals are available online to travel along with him.
Hill graduated Phi Beta Kappa in physics from the Honors College at the University of Oregon, and he holds an M.S. in physics and an M.A. in sociology from the University of Washington, and a Ph.D. in social psychology from Harvard University. Hill was the recipient of the Harry W. Nerhood Award for Teaching Excellence in 2014.
