When is Orientation? What’s happening during Orientation?

For students entering Whittier College for the fall 2021 semester, an in-person Orientation will take place on Sunday, August 22 and Monday, August 23, 2021. New students will attend sessions and events created to help them successfully transition into Whittier College. Additional online workshops will be offered throughout August prior to students arrival to campus.

Do I have to sign up for Orientation?

Yes, we ask that all new Poets register for the in-person experience so we can properly prepare for your participation. Registration for online orientation programs in August are needed for students to received login information.

How will we accommodate students and guests with disabilities?

All Orientation programs are designed to accommodate all students and guests, including those with disabilities. We encourage students to contact Student Disability Services at 562.907.4825 or disabilityservices@whittier.edu for more information.

What do students need to bring to Orientation?

We recommend attendees have something to take notes on available during all workshops.

Are there any fees associated with Orientation if I decide to come?

Though students are charged an Orientation fee (that is part of their tuition), families and guests are not required to pay a fee to attend Orientation family programs.

Do students have a checklist of things they need to accomplish in preparation for their arrival on campus?

Whittier College has prepared a New Student Checklist to assist new students in completing required elements as they transition into their college experience. The checklist includes links to the online housing portal, important forms for health and medical clearances, and many more items that you may find useful as you prepare to arrive to campus.

Who do I contact if I have trouble with accessing the new student checklist or with course registration?

The Center for Advising and Academic Success (CAAS) oversees all academic course registration processes to assist new students as they select their first classes at Whittier College. CAAS also can provide assistance with technical concerns related to accessing the New Student Checklist and Moodle. CAAS can be reached via email at caas@poets.whittier.edu.

When will students get their tuition bill? How can I access it?

Students can access their bill via their my.Whittier account. Parents and family members can access student's tuition bill only if that student grants access on their my.Whittier account through Poet Proxy Access.
