You get excited about the endless ways to tell a story, share an idea, say what needs to be said. You love to express yourself, and see others doing it, too. And not for nothing, but you think might be pretty good at it.
While earning your B.A. in English at Whittier College, you'll work with professors who share your passion and help you develop your voice.
You’ll take courses in literature, language, and the many forms of writing, which will help you fine-tune your talents while developing a greater understanding of the world around you. Later, advanced English majors interested in teaching get a chance to give it a try in the classroom. It’s a bit like an internship and it’s great for a resumé.
We also have 32 other majors and the option to design your own degree in a way that matches what you want to do after graduation.
And, once you've completed your first year at Whittier, you'll be eligible for a Global Poet Scholarship - a $2,000 award you can use to study literature in a foreign country. English professors have taken classes to places like England, Mexico, Greece, and Italy.
