RESEARCH PROJECT: I took part in a research project with Professor of Biology Cheryl Swift that involved different measurements for approximating the health of certain mangrove shrub species in freshwater, brackish water, and intertidal zones found within the Mai Po Reserve in Hong Kong. The goal was to take note of the difference amongst three mangrove species: River Mangrove (Aegicerus Corniculatum), Kandelia (Kandelia obovata), and Spiny Bears Breech (Acanthus ilicifolius). Once the data is interpreted back in Whittier, the results will be sent back to Mai Po for them to use as guidelines for improving the overall conservation of these shrub species.

PLANS POST-GRADUATION: Work with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power conducting fieldwork related to water reclamation and transport.
