Our equity-focused approach to your well-being acknowledges that keeping you strong is not just the responsibility of our counseling and health centers; rather, it's an institutional and societal responsibility. We support proactive, preventative education and encourage help-seeking behaviors to decrease stigma and to find the best supports to help you thrive in college.
We know that nearly 75% of lifelong mental health disorders are diagnosed before the age of 24, making college the optimal time to educate, proactively intervene, and establish lifelong patterns of help-seeking behaviors.
The CARE team, especially representatives of the Health & Wellness Center, Counseling Center, Campus Safety, and Student Accessibility Services, frequently offer support to students in need of mental health treatment, crisis intervention, leave of absence, hospitalization, accommodations or trauma response.
