Based on the latest information provided by the U.S. Department of Education, Whittier College expects to receive your FAFSA information by mid-March. At that time, the Office of Financial Aid will review your FAFSA and provide you with an official financial aid offer or request additional documentation per the federal government. We anticipate having a response for you before April 15 pending no further delays from the federal government.
No. This is our best estimate of the financial aid you can expect to receive based on the information we have to-date. While we are confident this estimate is very close to accurate, it is subject to change based on the information provided on your FAFSA as well as changes to the financial aid formulas provided by the U.S. Department of Education.
While we are confident our estimate is very close to accurate, your FAFSA information will confirm your official SAI and additional information used to determine your financial need. It is possible you may see an increase or reduction in aid in your official financial aid offer.
You may only appeal your official financial aid package, which you can expect to receive by April 15. Once you have received your official financial aid offer, you may file an appeal if there have been changes to your family’s financial situation since completing the FAFSA.
No. There is no need to resubmit your SAI. At this time, the U.S. Department of Education is not allowing corrections to data elements used in calculating the SAI. If there was an error in the information submitted, you will have an opportunity to make corrections to your FAFSA sometime in March.
