Request Books through LINK+

LINK+ is a free, convenient book request service that allows users at over 70 participating libraries to submit requests for books that are not available at their own institution. Users who need a book that's not in Wardman Library should use LINK+. A courier delivers the requested book(s) to the Library for checkout, generally in two to four days. Users will receive an email once the item has arrived.

How do I request books using LINK+?

  • From the Library catalog select “LINK+” in the middle of the web page.
  • Search for your book by Title, Keyword, Subject, etc. and click on “Submit.”
  • If your title is available, select “Request this item.”
  • Follow the prompts to enter your name and barcode number on your student ID.

Lending and Renewal Policies

  • Wardman Library follows all LINK+ consortia rule and regulations. Ask a librarian if you wish to review these policies.
  • LINK+ requests are generally filled two to four days from the date of request, though this time frame is not guaranteed.
  • LINK+ items are held at the Circulation Desk for pickup for 10 days.
  • The LINK+ loan period is 21 days with one 21-day renewal.

How do I check the status of my LINK+ request?

  • From the Library catalog, select “Login” from the top right menu. Type your name and barcode number (the 14-digit number under the barcode on the back of your student ID) and select “Submit.”
  • The screen will list all LINK+ items.
  • The following statuses may appear next to your LINK+ request:
    • Requested (your item has been requested)
    • In Transit (your item is on its way)
    • Received (your item is waiting for you at the Circulation Desk)

How do I cancel a LINK+ request?

  • From the Library catalog, select “Login” from the top right menu. Type your name and barcode number (the 14-digit number under the barcode on the back of your student ID) and select “Submit.”
  • The screen will list all LINK+ items.
  • Check the box next to a requested LINK+ item. Note: A LINK+ book request can be canceled only if its status is still “Requested.”
  • Select “Cancel Selected” and confirm your selection in the next step.

How do I renew LINK+ books?

  • From the Library catalog, select “Login” from the top right menu. Type your name and barcode number (the 14-digit number under the barcode on the back of your student ID) and select “Submit.”
  • The screen will list all checked out items.
  • Select the materials you want to renew by checking the boxes in the Renew column, and then select “Renew Selected” . If you want to renew everything, select “Renew All.”
  • If you cannot renew items, a message will appear on the screen. If you are successful, a new due date will appear in the “Status” column. Note: Always check the STATUS column for information on the success or failure of your renewal!

What are the fines associated with LINK+ items?

  • The overdue fine for LINK+ items is $1.00 per day per item from the day the item is overdue. There are no exceptions to this policy.
  • Once an item is 21 days overdue, a user will be charged a replacement fee of $115.00. If a LINK+ book is lost or damaged, a user will be charged $115.00.
  • LINK+ and Interlibrary Loan items not returned within 21 days of the due date will result in the restriction of library privileges until the items are returned or the issue is resolved.

Refunds for books found after the 21 days are at the discretion of the lending library. If you have any questions, ask to speak with our Circulation Supervisor.
