The Office of the Registrar also does not provide notarization or apostille services.

However, we have included information on how to obtain your documents as well as the steps for completing notarization and/or apostille processing.

Step 1: Order Your Official Documents

a. Diploma: Submit a Diploma Reorder Form to order a copy of your diploma. Please note that all orders are sent to our third-party vendor at the end of the month. Please allow 3-4 weeks for processing and shipping.

b. Transcript: Place an order online at getmytranscript.com. Transcripts can be mailed out via postal mail or emailed to the recipient of your choice. For notarization purposes, it is recommended to place a mailed order to receive a physical transcript. Rush orders are processed as a digital format only. All standard transcript orders take about 7-10 business days to process.

Step 2: Get Your Documents Notarized

Once all official documents are received, they are ready to be notarized. You can find notary services at banks, UPS stores, law offices, or through mobile notary services.

Step 3: Prepare to Send for Apostille

Once notarized, prepare your documents to be mailed to the California Secretary of State's office, which is the authority that issues apostilles in California.

Step 4: Mail to the Secretary of State

Send your notarized documents to the California Secretary of State along with any required fees and forms for apostille processing. Check the Secretary of State's website for current fees, processing times, and mailing address.

Step 5: Receive Your Apostilled Documents

The Secretary of State will process your request and return your documents with the apostille attached, certifying them for international use.

More information on requesting an apostille can be found on the California Secretary of State website.
