Depending on the timing of the withdrawal, a student may not be eligible to receive a refund of all tuition and fees if their education is disrupted by an unexpected injury or illness.
The Tuition Protection Insurance Plan helps students and their families overcome the financial losses that may result from events which force students to withdraw from the semester due to a covered reason. Included in the Tuition Protection Plan is Student Life Assistance. This is a free, 24-hour hotline service that makes sure students and parents feel supported in emergency situations. For example, if a student is admitted to a hospital, the insurance plan can assist with travel arrangements for parents to visit, get the student home after treatment, or arrange to have the student's car driven home.
Whittier College has partnered with GradGuard™ to provide Poet families with peace of mind and support through the Tuition Protection Plan and Student Life Assistance programs.
This coverage expands the scope of our refund policy by ensuring reimbursement for tuition, housing and other payments if a student withdraws for any covered reasons at any time during the semester.
